So, rather than start with a picture from today, I chose to upload this picture of my mini dorm Christmas tree from last night.
I spent a few hours yesterday making these ornaments for my roommates, drilling holes, glueing together scrabble letters, and tying twine. I got the original idea for the name ornaments off of pinterest, but I changed it a little bit and I like them more this way.
Anyways, the tree is now fully decorated and sitting on the counter in our dorm... It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas now!
My version of the Scrabble letter ornament:
1. Glue together the middle letters (in this case A-E) with tacky glue, horizontally. Make sure to wipe off any excess before letting it dry.
2. Drill small holes in the corners of the outside letters. To do this, my dad made me a little jig so that I could hold the letters in place, but it was really simple to make. Just a couple of small boards nailed together.
3. Glue the end letters onto the rest of the name.
4. Cut twine, thread it through the holes, and tie a cute bow on top.
