There are always lots of pictures to sort through whenever Ashley and I get together at her farm, and today wasn't any different than any other day in terms of the number of pictures I'm working on...
Earlier today I texted Ashley asking how clean Gucci (the new horse I posted about a few days ago) was these days, and she told me to come on over since she knew why I was asking.
It was a gorgeous day today, unusually warm considering how bitterly cold Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were, and very clear and sunny.
Unfortunately, the lack of clouds made taking pictures a little tricky even though we didn't start taking them until around 3:30.
Still, I got a few good ones so I've posted a few here and I'll put the rest on my Facebook photography page later.
Anyways, in case you couldn't tell, the first two pictures are of Gucci having fun alone in his little field.
I was in the mood for lots of different kinds of pictures today though, so I tried to be somewhat creative... Here's one of Ashley's cats sunbathing on one of the farm tools.
I really just liked how the light was hitting him, so I thought I'd see what I could do with it.
Then this is a picture of Ashley riding Armani around the back field, and yes, I meant for it to be a far away shot. I liked how the grass looked golden in the sunlight today.
Ashely's been recovering from mono, so she didn't ride Armani for too long, but I still got quite a few pictures of them riding around.
Actually, about 300 of them to be exact. I don't like all of them though, and I'm dreading trying to sort through all of them so that I can post about 10 of them on my Facebook page.
Finally, here's a couple of nature pictures (I guess that's what you'd call them).
Once again, I liked how the light was a little bit golden today, so I decided to play with depth of field and focus with my 50 mm f1.8 set lens, and these are what came of it.
I think the second weed picture might be one of my favorites from today... It was so delicate that I had to be careful not to focus on the trees in the background.
Anyways, I'm proud of myself for finally posting some good pictures on here again... I've kept up with this photo a day blog for almost a full month now, so hopefully I can keep it going all year!
One down, eleven to go!
