January 18

OK, so I technically didn't get this blog post up until the 19th, but I had a good reason this time!!

Tonight was Hannah's great-grandmother's 100th birthday party. She will be exactly 100 years old on Monday, so all of her friends and family came in from out of town to celebrate.

The whole family calls her Mamaw, (excuse me if I can't spell) and she's a very sweet old lady.

You wouldn't even know she was a hundred, honestly. She still seems to be doing very well!

Anyway, I took over 200 pictures of Mamaw with her friends and family, and today I'm going to sort through all of them and edit them so that I can give the Prater's a disk with all of the photos on it… It's going to take me quite awhile though.

The party space was really dimly lit, so I had to use flash pretty much the whole time, and I practically despise flash so that was hard for me.

I did get it to work okay though, and although the pictures may not look exactly as I would usually prefer, they're still fairly good overall (in my opinion at least).
Oh, and I actually got paid for taking pictures all night! So that was really exciting. It's the second time in my life that I've been paid for my photography, but honestly I was just happy to help!

To explain the pictures I chose to put on here real quick, the first is of Mamaw watching her 100th birthday video tribute, the second is her being presented with her cake, and the third is Hannah's immediate family, Mamaw, and Mamaw's lifelong best friend, Ethel (who's 98).

Hannah and I are totally going to be just like Mamaw and Ethel some day. Old ladies still best friends after almost 100 years.
