January 31

Well, none of these pictures are fantastic, but they certainly describe my day accurately!

Today almost as soon as classes were over, I went home to Lexington.

I had made plans with one of my friends from high school who was going to take me to his frat to hang out, catch up, and meet people.

But before that, I had some stuff I wanted to get done that I couldn't do in Morehead.

First I got my eyebrows waxed (I tried to do my own eyebrows back in 8th grade with HORRIBLE results so now I'm afraid to touch them myself and only trust one person with them), went to Starbucks, got a haircut, had my old gel nails soaked off and nails repainted, and ate at one of my favorite restaurants (Saul Good).

Basically, by the time I actually did something, I was feeling pretty good...

Anyway, the first picture is from the half an hour or so I spent drinking coffee and reading Gone Girl at Starbucks, pre-haircut.

I actually just realized that my hair was so long before I got my haircut that it snuck into the picture at the bottom... It was definitely time for a trim.

The second picture is of my hair post-haircut... Considering I pretty much never post pictures of myself on here (a few days ago was the only time I've ever posted one, actually), it probably looks extremely long still...

I actually got more than two inches cut off though, I'm just very attached to my length. Before I got it cut it reached just past the waistband of my pants!

Yeah, it was definitely time... Still, I had a hard time parting with the little bit that she did take off... I've had some really bad haircuts before (not from my current stylist) and taking any off makes me nervous.

Next here's a picture of Erin (my hairstylist) cutting my mom's hair. She had the appointment after me, and I love the way her hair turned out...

She's probably going to be mad at me for posting this picture though... I just like to document life for my blog!

Anyway, today was a very good day, although I pretty much completely lost my voice.

But even though every time I said something aloud my voice came out squeaky and raspy, I didn't let it stop me from going to my friend's fraternity with him and talking to a bunch of people for a few hours.

I actually had a lot of fun while doing it, even though I felt bad for everyone who had to hear my voice the way it is.

No one seemed to mind too much though! All of the people I talked to seemed very nice, and kindly ignored the fact that I could barely speak.

OK, back to the pictures now... this last one is from my dessert at Saul Good.

It's the half baked cookie, and it is the absolute best dessert ever invented.

Think of a warm, freshly baked chocolate chip cookie that hasn't hardened yet with a big scoop of cold vanilla ice cream on top with some chocolate sauce and a strawberry to top it all off...

Delicious.

Unfortunately due to my head cold I could barely taste it, which was fairly disappointing, but it is legitimately my favorite dessert in the world, and I try to get it almost every time I come home just because I love it so much!
