Today, my friend Ashley got a brand new, gorgeous chestnut brown thoroughbred from the Thoroughbred Center-- for free.
Ironically, his racing name was Navidad.
She's probably going to call him Gucci though.
Anyways, this morning Ashley found a post online for a horse that had some sort of minor knee injury that required he be left unridden for 3-4 months, but because he was in a super expensive stall that was needed for other non injured horses, he had to go. Today.
The ad said that he was free to a good home, but they needed the stall today, so if somebody didn't come get him, he would be euthanized. Thankfully, Ashley's family got him before that could happen!

By the way, a month ago he cost $10,000... and they got him 100% for free with a slight injury that shouldn't even require surgery. Pretty good deal if you ask me!
Back to the story... so, since Ash was super excited about him, she texted me on the way back to the farm and told me she had a surprise that I should come take pictures of if I had time.
Of course, I couldn't turn down an opportunity to take some more pictures. So despite the drizzling rain, I drove out to the farm and took a few pictures before he could get too muddy to look good.
He really is a gorgeous horse!
Also, Rex was looking especially cute today, so I felt the need to include him on here as well...
I've also decided that Ashley's pets love me, and that I'm going to own a corgi someday. He snuck inside the house, and while we were sitting there he curled up at my feet, then ended up jumping up on my lap and curling up there. Adorable.
