I cheated. This post was very late... BUT I think I had good reason with it being New Year's Eve and all!
Anyways, this is the lovely Mary Thompson swinging on a tire swing at Veteran's Park.
I love this girl. We became good friends at The Cathedral Domain this year taking pictures together and messing around with our cameras.
Unfortunately, shortly after camp she moved to Memphis, Tennessee and I hadn't seen her since summer. Luckily, she was in Lexington for the day, so of course we messed around with our cameras again.
It was great to see her again and fun to play with my camera as always... I've also started using my film camera a bit finally. I took a shot or two of her with it as well just for fun.
I figure once I finish a roll or two and get them developed it'll be cool to see what I took and cool to have physical pictures of people and places and just stuff from my life in general.
I like having something physical to remind me of what my life was like on any given day... I think that's why I've kept a journal since seventh grade and why I enjoy doing a photo a day blog so much.... and why I love photography in general.
Also this picture to the right here is probably my favorite because she looks like she's just naturally having fun at a park on a tire swing like any kid would do.
Another favorite thing of mine photography wise is capturing peoples' real smiles. I love when people look honestly happy in photos and don't look like they're forcing it whatsoever.
Anyways can't wait to see this girl again and I hope it's soon!
