It had been much too long since I rode horses around my friend Ashley's farm in Lexington, and I finally got to do it again today.
Unfortunately it was also freezing cold still, so I didn't take all that many pictures, and I didn't get to ride for a super long time.
BUT Ashley did get a couple of pictures of me that I actually love (which doesn't happen very often)...
I think photographers are the worst photographic subjects because they expect whoever is taking the photo to take a picture that has good quality and composition but also makes them look good, too...
Basically, we're picky, if you put me in the category of photographer anyway...
But back to the pictures! First this is Armani once again. He's in fluffball mode due to the cold and was being incredibly sweet as I rode him around.
Next, here's a carnation that my mom gave me as a late Valentine's Day present today.
Note to future husband: you don't need to buy me a fancy dinner or expensive jewelry for Valentine's day, just buy me a flower or two and I'll be satisfied!!
Honestly I just love how fresh cut flowers bring everything to life... including this chainlink fencing inside of one of Ashley's stables....
And here's another photo of me and Armani just for good measure.
He's also super sweet as I'm sure I've mentioned before, although Pickle still may be my favorite just because he was the first horse I ever really rode besides a failed pony ride when I was five years old...
The saddle wasn't secure and it flipped, making my 11 year old sister fall right on top of me...
Anyway! Despite my rough beginning as a five year old, after riding for the first time again my junior year of high school, I now love horses.
Someday I want to have a farm of my own with at least a horse or two on it, and I'll totally pay Ashley just to pick out some sweet horses and help me keep them in the right kind of shape.
Speaking of Ashley and Pickle, here's a picture I took of them riding around. Ashley's still recovering from mono and wasn't in the mood for pictures today, but I thought this was a cool shot still!
I just kept driving out Tates Creek Road until I finally found a place where you could actually see the sunset to some extent (without it just being the tops of trees and sky).
This is what I came up with! It's not perfect, I'm not sure why there's a pole right in the front yard, but I like it.
